Despite longer timelines and uncertainty in the US, the fundraising market for private funds is poised for a rebound, according to Warren Goodworth, Bryan Hunkele, and Steven Zaorski, partners in the asset management practice at Ropes & Gray.
In Private Equity International’s fundraising issue, Warren, Bryan and Steve highlight a cautious optimism, noting that while fundraising still takes time, managers are improving in returning capital to investors, which is fostering renewed interest. Top managers are enhancing diligence on new LP relationships and employing placement agents to access new regions, while emerging managers face longer timelines and need to demonstrate their investment theses to gain traction. Structuring innovations and the pursuit of new pockets of capital are also shaping the market dynamics.
