Ropes & Gray Attorney Testified on Capitol Hill on Issues Impacting Technology Companies

On July 18, IP litigation partner Peter Brody (Washington, D.C.) testified before the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on the Judiciary, Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property and the Internet in a hearing titled “Counterfeits and Cluttering: Emerging Threats to the Integrity of the Trademark System and the Impact on American Consumers and Businesses.”  Appearing on behalf of the International Trademark Association (INTA), Mr. Brody testified in support of legislation proposed by INTA to restore the rebuttable presumption of irreparable harm in injunctive proceedings in cases involving trademark counterfeiting, infringement, dilution, false advertising, and cybersquatting.
