A team of Ropes & Gray attorneys represented longstanding client Jim Caldwell as he entered into an employment contract to become the head coach of the Detroit Lions.
The former Indianapolis Colts head coach led the Baltimore Ravens to a Super Bowl win last year as offensive coordinator. Taking over a team in the Lions with only one postseason win in the past 55 years, Caldwell has high hopes, based on his nucleus of Pro Bowlers Ndamukong Suh and Calvin Johnson, along with quarterback Matthew Stafford. The Boston-based Ropes & Gray team representing Coach Caldwell included sports law partner Dennis Coleman and labor & employment associate Megan Bisk.
