Ropes & Gray Advises Bain Capital on $2.4b Acquisition of Blue Coat Systems

Ropes & Gray represented Bain Capital on a definitive agreement to acquire IT security solutions provider Blue Coat Systems, Inc. from Thoma Bravo, LLC in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $2.4 billion, announced Mar. 10. Blue Coat offers an integrated portfolio of security solutions that protect enterprises against some of today’s most advanced technology threats.

The Ropes & Gray deal team included private equity partner William Shields; finance partner Byung Choi; tax partner Eric Elfman; private equity associate Charles Boer; and tax associate Pamela Glazier.
