On May 12, Ropes & Gray’s Seoul office co-hosted a seminar with Lee & Ko, a Korean law firm in Seoul to discuss recent issues and trends in IP disputes in the U.S. and Korea. IP litigation partners Jesse Jenner (New York), David Chun (Seoul) and Steve Pepe (New York) presented at the seminar, and Seoul office managing partner Bill Kim delivered opening remarks.
Mr. Jenner spoke on non-practicing entity (NPE) activity in the U.S., including recent changes in U.S. federal law and the impact on market conditions for patent owners. Mr. Harnett and Mr. Chun presented on trade secret enforcement, including the recently passed changes to U.S. federal law. Mr. Pepe discussed recent amendments to the U.S. Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, the Federal Rules of Appellate Procedure, inter partes review and post-grant review.
