Ropes & Gray, together with Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP, advised Maple Leaf Foods Inc. in its definitive agreement announced Feb. 21 to acquire Lightlife Foods, Inc. for $140 million. Lightlife was founded in 1979 and today is a leading U.S. manufacturer and marketer in the alternative protein category. The transaction is expected to close in March and is subject to customary U.S. regulatory review.
