Health care partners Michael Lampert and Deborah Kantar Gardner, together with associate Devin Cohen (all of Boston) authored a Nov. 29 article published in Law360.
The article authors explain that the new Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services final Medicare rules reinforce a trend away from delivery of care in traditional inpatient care settings. Among the changes, Medicare will expand coverage for certain services furnished by outpatient providers and for telehealth services, create reimbursement parity between all hospital off-campus providers under the 340B drug pricing program, and reduce medical record documentation requirements for certain office and outpatient visits.
