Ropes & Gray has appointed new office managing partners in its Chicago and Washington, D.C. offices. Litigation & enforcement partner Colleen Conry has been named office managing partner of the firm’s Washington, D.C. office; and litigation & enforcement partner Laura Hoey has been named office managing partner of the firm’s Chicago office.
Ms. Conry, a former federal prosecutor, has extensive experience in representing multinational corporations and their executives in government investigations as well as criminal prosecutions. Ms. Conry was named to The Washingtonian’s “Washington, D.C.’s Best Lawyers, Criminal Defense-White Collar” in 2018.
Ms. Hoey, a Chambers-ranked lawyer and former federal prosecutor, is co-leader of the Government Enforcement and White Collar Group and co-leader of the Health Care and Life Sciences Industry Group at Ropes & Gray. She was named in Crain’s Chicago Business as one of “Chicago’s Notable Women Lawyers” in 2018.
Women at Ropes & Gray comprise 27 percent of the partnership—well above the industry average of 19 percent—and hold leadership positions at the highest levels of the firm, serving as department heads, practice group leaders, office managing partners, and policy committee members. Ms. Hoey formerly was co-leader of Ropes & Gray’s Women’s Forum, which supports the development and advancement of women in business and law.
