This week, Ropes & Gray attorneys advised global clients on major international transactions and delivered insights on developments in the health care industry. - Great Rail Journeys, a U.K.-based tour operator, acquired Vacations By Rail, a Chicago-based provider of railway holidays. Attorneys from our U.K. and U.S. offices advised private equity firm Duke Street on the acquisition. The transaction showcases the firm’s English and U.S. law capabilities in advising on a U.S. acquisition that is partially funded by English-law-governed facilities.
- Jacobs Holdings AG, a global professional investment firm based in Zurich, acquired North American Dental Group, a network of more than 200 dental practices in 11 U.S. states and 23 regional markets. Ropes & Gray advised Jacobs Holdings AG on the transaction.
- Leading private equity firm TSG Consumer Partners acquired Joe Hudson’s Collision Centers, an operator of 110 auto body repair shops across the southeastern United States. Ropes & Gray represented TSG Consumer Partners in the transaction.
- The criminal division of the U.S. Department of Justice recently issued a document that tells white collar prosecutors how to evaluate compliance programs. Health care partner Michael Lampert examines how compliance officers can use the new guidance in Hospital Peer Review.
- In an new episode of IP(DC), Ropes & Gray’s podcast series focusing on Washington, D.C.-based developments in intellectual property law, health care partner Tom Bulleit joins IP litigation partners Scott McKeown and Matt Rizzolo to dissect the Trump administration’s efforts to rein in drug pricing and the competing policies at play on the patent side of the business.
- For the fourth consecutive year, Shanghai life sciences partner Katherine Wang was named one of Asian Legal Business’s “China Client Choice” lawyers. The award recognizes legal practitioners who have established the strongest relationships with clients in the region.
- Volunteers from Ropes & Gray’s Chicago office participated in Cradles to Crayons’ fourth annual Backpack-A-Thon as part of the organization’s Ready for School initiative. The team helped to stuff 50,000 backpacks with school supplies for Chicago children in homeless and low-income situations.
