Insights from asset management partner Eve Ellis (London) are included in a piece published in Investment Week on Oct. 22. The article examines how the closure of the Woodford Equity Income fund will likely impact the authorized corporate director market and regulators’ future approach to fund liquidity standards.
"Liquidity is clearly a key issue for regulators and the FCA has published new liquidity rules but these are not currently intended for UCITS funds. [Pan-European regulator] ESMA [has also] published guidelines on liquidity stress testing that are relevant to UCITS and AIFs, and both of these indicate the direction of travel the regulators are taken on this topic,” Ms. Ellis says, as experts warn of delays in investors recouping losses.
