In Law360, asset management partner & institutional investors team co-leader Isabel Dische discusses the impact of market turmoil on the private equity secondaries market. In the April 8 article titled “Inside The Top 10 Private Investment Funds That Closed In Q1,” Isabel outlines how the “coronavirus-triggered turmoil in the markets resulted in a number of pending secondary transactions failing in the first quarter as buyers’ comfort transacting at historic valuations dropped in tandem with the broader market decline.”
“That said, I think the dislocation will be temporary, and if anything I would expect secondaries activity to pick up in the coming months,” she said. “We are already seeing secondaries buyers eyeing new opportunities.”
