The private equity deal market is facing new challenges in 2023 due to higher interest rates and inflation.
Private equity partner Bob Rivollier told Law360 that, “comparing any deal environment to last year is probably not fair due to the boom that was 2021 and 2022.”
"I think a lot of people are drawing these conclusions that it's a slow market, but deals are still happening. Yes, it's a different year and there are definitely challenges … but when you look at the markets, the slowdown has not affected the whole private equity market the same way. The middle market, lower-middle market has actually been pretty active."
