Ropes & Gray represented Gridiron Capital, a middle market investment firm,in a passive, minority investment by RidgeLake Partners, a strategic partnership between OA Private Capital and Apogem Capital. The transaction was announced on November 7 in a press release.
Gridiron Capital is a firm focused on partnering with founders, entrepreneurs, and management teams, and has approximately $9.9 billion of assets under management. The transaction is intended to provide Gridiron with long-term capital to support the ongoing growth of the platform, its portfolio company partnerships, and its investment strategies across branded consumer, B2B and B2C services, and niche industrial segments in the U.S. and Canada.
The Ropes & Gray team was led by private equity partner Paul Van Houten and asset management partner Debra Lussier, co-heads of the Sponsor Solutions Group, and included tax partners Samuel Duncan and Alyssa Kollmeyer and private equity counsel Sarah Davis.
