Ropes & Gray represented VettaFi, a portfolio company of Aretex Capital Partners, in its sale to TMX Group. TMX Group agreed to acquire the remaining approximately 78% of the common units of VettaFi for approximately $848 million, after investing in a 22% stake in VettaFi earlier this year. The transaction was announced in a press release on December 13.
Aretex Capital Partners is a private equity firm headquartered in New York City. VettaFi is a data, analytics, digital distribution, and thought leadership company that helps asset managers build differentiated businesses with indexing as a major pillar and focus for future innovation.
TMX Group operates global markets, and builds digital communities and analytic solutions for businesses, traders and investors. TMX Group's key operations include Toronto Stock Exchange, TSX Venture Exchange, TSX Alpha Exchange, The Canadian Depository for Securities, Montréal Exchange, Canadian Derivatives Clearing Corporation, and Trayport which provide listing markets, trading markets, clearing facilities, depository services, technology solutions, data products and other services to the global financial community.
