Ropes & Gray served as U.S. legal advisor for affiliates of American Industrial Partners Fund VIII in entering into a definitive agreement to acquire publicly-listed global drilling services leader Boart Longyear Group Ltd. (ASX:BLY). The take-private transaction was announced on December 26.
Headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, Boart Longyear is a leading global provider of drilling services and equipment. The company’s focus on mining and exploration spans a range of commodities includes copper, gold, nickel, zinc, uranium, and other metals and minerals. The company is also involved in the oil sands exploration and environmental sectors.
