In a Legaltech News and Law.com article, asset management partner Melissa Bender, who leads the firms cryptocurrency and blockchain group, offered prescient predictions on 2024 emerging technology trends.
Melissa accurately predicted the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission recent approval of several spot bitcoin exchange traded funds (ETFs).
“Looking ahead to 2024, many in the industry are hopeful that the growing regulatory clarity in jurisdictions such as the EU, Singapore and UAE will foster growth. Sophisticated financial institutions remain committed to developing to blockchain technologies for purposes of facilitating trading and settlement activities, although this is long term build. Perhaps the brightest ray of hope for crypto in the US in the upcoming year is the increasing optimism that the SEC will approve a spot bitcoin ETF and we continue to see major institutional players and specialized crypto firms filing and updating their applications,” said Melissa.
