Ropes & Gray advised Wynnchurch Capital, a leading middle market private equity firm, on the close of its sixth private equity fund, Wynnchurch Capital Partners VI, L.P (“Fund VI”) at $3.5 billion of committed capital. Fund VI closed on January 18, less than five months after its initial launch.
Fund VI was significantly oversubscribed, surpassing its target of $3 billion. Investors in Fund VI included state pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, insurance companies, corporate pension plans, investment advisors and family offices from around the globe. Wynnchurch has been successfully investing in middle market companies for twenty-five years.
The Ropes & Gray team included asset management partners Amanda Persaud, Steve Zaorski, Laura Hirst, Joel Wattenbarger and Eve Ellis, tax partner Sam Duncan, finance partner Patricia Teixeira and employee benefits partner Josh Lichtenstein.
“We are pleased to have guided Wynnchurch Capital in its oversubscribed sixth fund,” said Amanda Persaud. “We thank their team for turning to Ropes & Gray for counsel. Our private funds team is a trusted partner to the world’s leading private equity funds, guiding important and complex fundraises.”
