Ropes & Gray has advised Partners Group, on behalf of its clients, on its pan-European joint venture with Italian student housing specialist Camplus International and alternative asset manager DeA Capital Real Estate. The JV aims to develop and operate next-generation, purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) assets in cities across Europe, targeting more than 5,000 beds.
The JV has a significant pipeline of additional projects, looking to build up a market-leading platform across France and Spain in particular. Two assets were acquired as the JV’s seed portfolio - Camplus Ivry, a 448-bed scheme at Ivry-Sur-Seine, Paris and Camplus 22@, a 250-bed development site in the 22@ technology district in Barcelona – with both projects targeting green certifications.
The Ropes & Gray team was led by private equity real estate partner Will Bryant with associates Harriet Moseley, Abbey Shaw and Rosie Bell, and trainee Iain Fox.
