Global law firm Ropes & Gray is pleased to share that 26 attorneys have been named counsel of the firm, effective November 1. 

The firm’s newest counsel guide clients in industries that shape the global economy, including private capital, asset management, healthcare, life sciences, business restructuring, technology and infrastructure.

Meet Ropes & Gray’s newest counsel:

Jeffrey Battle (San Francisco) counsels public and private companies on all aspects of the design, compliance and administration of their executive compensation and employee benefit arrangements.

Jacob Bennett (London) guides clients through a wide variety of finance transactions. He has extensive experience in leveraged and acquisition finance, advising private equity sponsors, banks and direct lenders.

Lauren Biggs (New York) advises clients across the healthcare industry on complex regulatory, enforcement and transactional matters. Her practice spans enforcement advocacy and defense, Medicare Advantage advice, health technology, and strategic transactions.

Elise Corey (New York) advises public and private companies and investment banks on capital markets transactions, including IPOs and other equity transactions, high-yield and investment-grade debt offerings, liability management transactions, compliance, and corporate governance. 

Sean Darling (London) handles complex financing matters for sponsors, portfolio companies and borrowers. He focuses on leveraged, infrastructure and acquisition financing transactions, as well as bespoke structures, with a particular focus on industrially innovative sectors.

Ryan Duerring (New York) advises mortgage REITs, private funds and institutional investors on complex commercial real estate equity and debt transactions, including joint ventures, preferred equity investments, repurchase facilities and note-on-note financings.

Angela Jaimes (Boston) advises registered investment advisers on regulatory, transactional and compliance matters, offering counsel on a wide range of product types.  Angela also provides ongoing advice to investment companies and their independent trustees/directors.

Lindsey Jones (Washington, D.C.) advises on over-the-counter derivatives transactions and related regulatory analysis for asset managers and their funds, and on hedging specific to portfolio companies. She also advises on public-market derivatives transactions.

Kirsten Linder (San Francisco) counsels investment advisers and private fund sponsors on regulatory matters through all stages of the adviser life cycle. Her advice spans investment adviser registration, ongoing compliance counseling and SEC examinations.

Daniel Lee (New York) advises on the full spectrum of leveraged financing transactions for borrowers, financial institutions and private equity sponsors across industries. His practice encompasses everything from acquisition finance to securitizations.

Rebecca Liu (Chicago) guides private equity sponsors, portfolio companies and public companies on all aspects of executive compensation and employee benefits matters in transactions. She also advises clients on equity, severance and other incentive compensation arrangements.

Bryan Lowrance (Boston) leads public and private mergers and acquisitions across industries, including life sciences, healthcare and technology. He has extensive experience with shareholder activism, including proxy contest defense.

Nicholas Matthew (London) advises U.S. and European private equity sponsors, strategic investors, management teams and portfolio companies on transactions including acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, co-investments and restructurings. He is currently on secondment with Bain Capital.

Ariella Mutchler (Boston) provides tax guidance on high-yield debt issuances, syndicated credit facilities, NAV facilities and other financing transactions. She also advises investors on the tax aspects of private fund investments, co-investments and joint ventures. 

Kevin Nordin (London) advises on trade and economic sanctions and export controls, alongside broader corporate compliance, governance and related enforcement risks. He has deep experience in UK and EU regulatory regimes, advising clients across sectors.

Joey Patchitt (London) represents investors on all aspects of real estate investments, including joint ventures, capital solutions, co-investments, and direct and indirect acquisitions and disposals. He has substantial experience with data centers and digital infrastructure.

Samuel Perrone (Boston) counsels a broad array of healthcare clients on regulatory, enforcement and transactional matters, with a particular focus on False Claims Act defense, fraud-and-abuse counseling, internal investigations, and complex transaction structuring.

Rupert Phillips (London) advises on complex antitrust investigations and steers clients through international merger control and foreign investment processes. He works across industries with experience in advising technology, life sciences, semiconductor and private equity clients.

Patrick Prin (New York) guides global private equity firms and their portfolio companies on financing transactions, including credit facilities, acquisition financing and preferred equity offerings. He also has extensive experience with liability management transactions.

Tyler Silvey (New York) advises public and private companies on complex domestic and cross-border M&A transactions and related matters. Tyler also advises investment banks in their capacity as financial adviser in M&A transactions.

Ciara Stratford (London) acts for private equity sponsors on a broad range of transactions, including buyouts, disposals and co-investments. She is currently on a secondment with Intermediate Capital Group.

Jolene Wang (New York) is a high-stakes litigator of intellectual property and complex commercial cases in federal courts and before the ITC and PTAB. She advises clients across a wide range of industries and technologies.

Matthieu Wharmby (New York) guides global companies and private equity sponsors on structured finance transactions and other alternative financing arrangements. His practice includes esoteric ABS transactions such as whole-business, digital infrastructure and royalty securitizations.

Casey White (Washington, D.C.) leads private fund sponsors on formation and fundraising across a variety of fund types and strategies. Her experience ranges from large flagship funds to unique evergreen and hybrid structures.

Benjamin Wonnacott (London) advises on UK and cross-border tax aspects of a broad range of transactions spanning private equity, real estate, financings and fund formation. He brings valuable prior experience from a U.S. investment bank.

David Young (Washington, D.C.) represents clients in a variety of antitrust transaction and litigation matters. He advises clients on federal and state merger reviews, government conduct investigations, private antitrust litigation, and antitrust compliance.
