In a Bloomberg Law article, asset management partner Lindsey Goldstein and alternative asset opportunities partner Isabel Dische discussed challenges and opportunities facing the private equity secondaries market.
Isabel noted that “there is a talent gap that all of us are struggling to solve.” Lindsey explained the importance of structuring the firm to provide comprehensive training for associates in both private equity dealmaking and fundraising. “We need to pay a lot of attention to make sure we structure ourselves as a firm in a way to provide more and more opportunities for associates to get trained in both areas.”
In a separate Bloomberg article, Isabel notes that despite some fluctuations, the secondaries market continues to perform well. “While there have been ‘blips’ in the secondaries market, the asset class continues to perform well.”
“The deal volume will continue to be up,” she said, “and is probably going to continue to grow in the years ahead.”
