Ropes & Gray has advised Der Grüne Punkt (DSD), a waste management and plastics recycling business, and its subsidiaries on the financing aspects of their comprehensive recapitalisation and refinancing, including maturity extension.
Founded in 1990 as the first dual system recycling company, Der Grüne Punkt is a pioneer of closed-cycle economy, providing nationwide collection of used sales packages to recover raw materials. Over time, DSD has developed its own recycling activities and become an integral part of the overall value chain in the circular economy.
The Ropes & Gray team was led by finance partner Benoit Lavigne with counsel Sean Darling, associate Cameron Storah, and trainee Ben McIntee. Additional support was provided by private equity partner Dan Oates.
