GI Partners and TA Announce Majority Investment in Egnyte

Ropes & Gray represented GI Partners and TA Associates in a strategic growth investment in Egnyte, a provider of secure content collaboration and governance solutions. This partnership will infuse Egnyte with the capital and expertise needed to expand its global market presence and accelerate innovation through continued investment in research and development. The investment was announced in a Feb. 25 press release.

GI Partners has raised more than $45 billion in capital and invests on behalf of leading institutional investors around the world through its private equity, real estate, and data infrastructure strategies. Since 1968, TA has raised $65 billion in capital to date and has invested in more than 560 companies across five target industries – technology, healthcare, financial services, consumer and businesses services. 

The deal team was led by private equity partner Eric Issadore and included private equity partners Howard Glazer and Neill Jakobe, finance partners Nichole Lopez-Tackett and Alex Zeltser, employment partner Jen Cormier, tax partner Benjamin Rogers, IP transactions partner Emily Karlberg, litigation & enforcement partners Maria Calvet and Samer Musallam, and data, privacy & cybersecurity partner Ed McNicholas.
