Ropes & Gray’s hedge funds partners and practice co-leaders Laurel FitzPatrick (New York) and Leigh Fraser (Boston) have been recognized among The Hedge Fund Journal’s 50 Leading Women in Hedge Funds 2017 Report.

The fifth edition of The Hedge Fund Journal’s biennial 50 Leading Women in Hedge Funds report celebrates 50 women that have attained the highest echelons across the hedge fund industry. Report sponsor, EY, states that the 2017 women are recognized as “an impressive group of professionals that [are] moving the needle and shaping the future of the industry.” EY congratulates the “truly exceptional women represented in the 2017 edition of the 50 Leading Women in Hedge Funds – not because they are women, but because they exemplify success and leadership, and are an inspiration to those who follow in their footsteps.”

The profiles of Ms. FitzPatrick and Ms. Fraser note that Ms. FitzPatrick founded Ropes & Gray’s hedge funds practice in 2003, and highlights the practice’s representation of many of the world’s largest alternative asset managers, endowments and family offices. Ms. Fraser is distinguished as “sought after for advice on Dodd-Frank derivatives rules and counterparty agreements, including primer broker agreements, ISDA and repos.”
