Ropes & Gray was shortlisted by Chambers & Partners for three gender diversity awards at the Chambers Diversity and Inclusion Awards: USA 2019.
The firm was considered for “Most Pioneering Firm for Female Lawyers,” which celebrates a firm’s commitment to increasing the opportunities for, and representation of, female lawyers. In an individual category, litigation associate Kathryn Roulett was nominated for “Future Leader - Gender Diversity.” The award honors an individual’s commitment to advancing gender diversity and inclusion in the legal industry.
Over the last few years, Ropes & Gray has been recognized by multiple publications for its commitment to gender diversity and inclusion. With 28 percent of the firm’s partnership comprised of women, compared to an industry average of 19 percent, the firm currently ranks third on Law 360’s “Ceiling Smashers” list of large law firms with the highest percentage of female equity partners. The firm has also earned consistently strong Vault diversity rankings for women while, last year, Chambers & Partners named Ropes & Gray “Law Firm of the Year in Promoting Flexible Working Environments and Innovative Programs for Mothers” at the Chambers Women in Law Awards.
On January 1, 2020, securities & public companies partner Julie Jones will become the first woman chair in the firm’s history.
