The National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC) has recognized litigation & enforcement associate Michael Marzano as a Rising Star for providing pro bono counsel to NIJC clients on complex asylum matters. Michael was one of 12 attorneys in total who received a Rising Star award during the NIJC’s 21st annual Human Rights Awards. The ceremony, which honors individuals and entities for their work to promote, protect, and advance human rights, was held virtually on June 2, 2020, and attended by over 600 people. During the virtual event, NIJC attorneys invited viewers to join them in their mission. They said: “Our mission is to establish and defend the legal rights of immigrants, regardless of background, and transform the immigration system to one that affords equal opportunity for all.”
