Ropes & Gray advised Qorvo, Inc., a leading radio frequency semiconductor company, in its acquisition of Decawave Limited, a pioneer in ultra-wideband technology and a provider of UWB solutions for mobile, automotive and IoT applications. The 2020 acquisition was named “Deal of the Year” by The Irish Times. The deal represents one of the largest exits by an Irish technology company to date.
Dublin, Ireland-based-Decawave deployed more than 8 million chipsets in more than 40 different market verticals – from smartphones to drones. The Decawave team has become the Ultra-Wideband Business Unit within Qorvo Mobile Products. Qorvo serves diverse high-growth segments of large global markets, including advanced wireless devices, wired and wireless networks and defense radar and communications.
