In its April issue, The American Lawyer names mergers & acquisitions partners Jane Goldstein and Craig Marcus (both New York and Boston) to the publication’s “Dealmakers of the Year” list. The prestigious list honors outstanding corporate attorneys who excelled in guiding big, complex deals to a successful close in 2020.
Jane and Craig advised Dunkin’ Brands in its $11.3 billion sale to Inspire Brands. The American Lawyer honored the deal because cutting a deal for “most recognizable brands in the world, Dunkin’ Donuts, is big news in normal times. But doing so in the midst of a pandemic as the country barreled toward a tense presidential election, while also dealing with an 11th-hour media leak, is a whole different animal,” the publication wrote.
“What our clients wanted was to deliver tremendous value to their stockholders, and that’s exactly what they got,” Jane told The American Lawyer. “We tried to pull every lever we could.”
