Ropes & Gray was shortlisted for three Financial Times Innovative Lawyers—North America Awards including:
- Innovation in ESG – The firm’s global ESG practice, led by partner Michael Littenberg, is listed for innovating in the ESG space. The firm advises clients, including corporations, asset managers, asset owners and trade associations, in interpreting complex ESG and CSR rules, risks and opportunities.
- Innovation in Sustainability – A team representing online payment technology provider Stripe, Inc., led by mergers & acquisitions partner Chris Comeau and asset management partner Isabel Dische, is listed for advising Stripe in the formation of the $925 million Frontier Fund for carbon removal. Frontier’s aim is to aggregate demand from companies and governments that want to purchase carbon-capture solutions to achieve their net-zero pledges, vet the suppliers of those solutions and then facilitate purchases on behalf of buyers.
- Innovation in Sustainability – The firm was shortlisted for counselling the Nature Conservancy on a landmark transaction to safeguard Belize coral reefs and fisheries. Private equity partners Dan Evans and Andrea Hwang and mergers & acquisitions partner Sarah Young led the pro bono team that helped the Central American country launch a ground-breaking sovereign debt restructuring that will simultaneously finance marine conservation.
Winners will be announced at an award ceremony in New York City on December 5.
