Ropes & Gray’s London finance team advised Liberty Latin America’s subsidiary Liberty Servicios Fijos LY on the largest sustainability-linked bond in the digital infrastructure sector in Costa Rica, which has been awarded, ‘Infrastructure Financing of the Year: Central America’ at the LatinFinance \Project & Infrastructure Finance Awards.
The unique US$450 million financing package included a noteworthy A/B bond structure which consists of a combination of a loan and a bond.
The LatinFinance awards recognise the most impressive transactions and institutions in a field critical to the region’s economic progress, with this financing supporting the continued expansion of fixed network and 4G/5G coverage to narrow the digital divide.
