Tara Fisher Named a “Dealmaker of the Year” by The American Lawyer

Mergers & acquisitions partner Tara Fisher was named a “Dealmaker of the Year” by The American Lawyer, which recognized Tara’s work guiding the successful $10.1 billion sale of ImmunoGen to AbbVie. The transaction closed in February 2024. It is the fourth deal to earn Ropes & Gray lawyers coveted “Dealmaker of the Year” honors in the past four years.

The transaction saw AbbVie acquire all outstanding shares of ImmunoGen, maker of the cancer therapy ELAHERE. ELAHERE is a first-in-class antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) approved for platinum resistant ovarian cancer. ImmunoGen’s late-stage development programs of ELAERE also provide opportunities for expansion into earlier lines of therapy and additional patient populations. 

“We delivered value to our client and hope to people living with cancer,” said Tara. 

“Dealmakers of the Year” also recognized Emily Oldshue in 2023 for guiding Pfizer in the successful acquisition of Biohaven for $11.6 billion; Sarah Davis in 2022 for successfully guiding Altimeter Growth in its $39.6 billion SPAC merger with with Grab Holdings—the largest SPAC merger of 2021; and Jane Goldstein and Craig Marcus in 2021 for guiding the successful sale of Dunkin’ Brands to Inspire Brands for $11.3 billion.
