IP litigation partners James Davis and Andrew Radsch in the firm’s Silicon Valley office were named to Daily Journal’s 2025 Top Intellectual Property Lawyers list. This list recognizes standout intellectual property attorneys in California working in patent litigation, trademark and copyright.

Jim was recognized for being one of the nation’s most active Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) attorneys, having litigated more than 200 post-grant proceedings. His profile article notes that Jim’s practice involves about one-third PTAB cases, one-third district court matters and one-third appellate work.

Jim led the strategy that resulted in the Federal Circuit’s precedent setting decision regarding obviousness-type double patenting in In Re: Cellect LLC. Daily Journal also highlighted Jim’s work representing Emerson Electric Co. in its international patent infringement dispute with SIPCO, including securing multiple affirmations of PTAB unpatentability and persuading the Federal Circuit to vacate a PTAB decision, an outcome that occurs in less than 20% of PTAB appeals.

Andrew is noted for representing both plaintiffs and defendants in litigation disputes across industries related to network security, wireless communications, cloud computing, streaming media, semiconductors, consumer electronics, medical devices, and consumer care products, among others.

Andrew’s profile article highlights his work leading the Ropes & Gray team that successfully defended Palo Alto Networks in critical patent litigation brought by Centripetal Networks. His work on behalf of Godo Kaisha IP Bridge, Yangtze Memory Technologies Corp., and Upsher Smith Laboratories LLC was also noted.
