Ropes & Gray Partner Alex Robb Named as Rising Star in Private Equity

Ropes & Gray leveraged finance partner Alex Robb has been named by Legal Week as one of the UK’s rising stars of private equity.  

Alex has a broad experience in both domestic and international financing, with a particular focus on leveraged finance, including bank/bond, unitranche, senior/subordinated and holdco PIK financings, together with financial restructuring matters.  Recent deals he has advised on include: 

• Advising Intermediate Capital Group on a holdco PIK financing in respect of its £1.3bn joint partnership investment – alongside HG Saturn Fund – into IRIS, a leading provider of business-critical software and services to the UK accountancy, education and business market. 

• Advising Bain Capital Credit and Intermediate Capital Group as lenders in connection with the £230m unitranche financing of Ardian’s acquisition of Study Group, a leading provider of international education in the UK and Europe, Australia, New Zealand and North America, from Providence Private Equity. 

• Advising Liberty Global in connection with its EUR 500m first lien/second lien refinancing of All3Media, a leading UK and German television content producer.
