Areas of Practice

Yenis Argueta Guevara is an associate in the intellectual property litigation group. Yenis’s practice focuses on patent infringement and commercial disputes and ranges across various industries and technologies, including biomedical devices, life sciences, and mobile and wireless technology. Yenis has experience with pre-suit investigations; drafting court documents, including briefs, motions, and pleadings; drafting written discovery requests and responses; preparing for and chairing depositions; attending trial and arguing disputes in court; and drafting post-trial briefing. Yenis has litigation experience working in multiple federal district courts and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

Yenis maintains a robust pro bono practice, particularly helping asylum-seekers and undocumented individuals obtain immigration relief. Yenis has successfully obtained immigration relief for multiple clients, including asylum and withholding of removal.

Prior to joining Ropes & Gray, Yenis interned at Morgan Stanley and an immigration organization helping clients obtain asylum relief. Yenis also worked at a regional worker’s defense organization representing clients in wage theft complaints. Yenis was an editor of the Seton Hall Law Review and the president of the engineering honor society at Syracuse University.

  • Collision Communications, Inc. v. Nokia Solutions and Networks Oy: Obtained a $23 million jury verdict representing Collision Communications against Nokia in a breach of contract case in the District of New Hampshire.  
  • Collision Communications, Inc. v. Nokia Corp. et al; Collision Communications, Inc. v. Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson et al. (EDTX): Represented Collision Communications in two cases against Nokia and Ericsson in the Eastern District of Texas involving infringement of multiple 3G and 4G/LTE patents by Nokia and Ericsson’s cellular infrastructure products and services.
  • Exactech, Inc. v. Zimmer, Inc.: Represented Exactech in a patent infringement suit relating to orthopedic implants and surgical devices in the Middle District of Florida and at the PTAB.
  • Ragner Technology Corp. et al. v. National Express / Telebrands: Represented Ragner Technology Corp. and Tristar Products, Inc. in a set of competitor cases, asserting patents covering expandable garden hoses and methods of use in the District of New Jersey.
  • Represented a pharmaceutical company in shareholder derivative litigations alleging breaches of fiduciary duties in the District of New Jersey.
