Megan Black joined Ropes & Gray’s corporate department in 2022.
During law school, Megan was executive editor of Seton Hall’s Legislative Journal, a member of the Interscholastic Moot Court Board and participated in the Civil Litigation and Practice Clinic. Megan also interned for the Honorable Judge Martinotti United States District Judge for the District of New Jersey.
Prior to law school, Megan worked in public relations in Washington, D.C.
Experience
- Represented Exactech, Inc., a leading manufacturer and developer of orthopedic implant devices, surgical instruments, and AI-driven smart technologies for hospitals and physicians, and its affiliated debtors in a successful asset sale to an entity affiliated with a group of secured lenders through voluntary chapter 11 proceedings, involving the restructuring of more than $350 million of prepetition debt and liabilities, securing approximately $160 million in debtor in possession credit financing, and addressing billions in alleged tort liabilities.
- Represented Tecomet, Inc., together with certain of its affiliates, in the refinancing of its approximately $1 billion capital structure, including through the provision of a new revolving credit facility and privately placed first-lien term loan. Tecomet is a global leader in the design, development, and manufacture of orthopedic, robotic assisted, and minimally invasive surgical products, as well as precision components for the aerospace and defense industry.
