Nicholas Coppola is an associate in Ropes & Gray’s asset management group. In his practice, Nicholas advises private fund sponsors on fundraising, governance, operational and compliance matters. His clients pursue a variety of investment strategies, including private equity, venture capital and real estate.
He also represents registered investment companies, their advisers and boards of directors in regulatory, transactional and compliance matters. In this area, he advises his clients on the registration and operation of investment products, including the preparation and review of disclosure in offering documents. He also works with clients to respond to new SEC rules affecting the investment management industry.
While in law school, Nicholas served as a staff writer and senior editor for the Boston College Law Review. He also worked in the school’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Clinic, where he advised small and start-up businesses on a variety of formation and regulatory issues.
