Calum is an associate in Ropes & Gray's asset management group, based in London. Calum trained at the firm’s London office and gained experience in the finance, private equity, litigation & enforcement, and asset management teams.
Calum advises European and global private fund managers on the structuring, formation, and ongoing operation of alternative investment funds across a range of strategies. He also works with institutional and sophisticated investors in relation to complex fund investments, co-investments, and secondaries within a number of jurisdictions.
Experience
Calum has experience advising:
- A European alternative asset manager in relation to the establishment of feeder funds to facilitate the participation of semi-professional and high net worth individuals in various private funds.
- A large Asian sovereign wealth fund on its global programme of investments including primaries, co-investments, and secondaries.
- A UK-based first-time manager in the digital infrastructure space on the formation of a Jersey closed-ended fund.
- A Swiss-based institutional investor with US$135 billion under management on its investments in a variety of different funds.
