Peter joined Ropes & Gray in 2009 in the health care group. Peter advises a wide range of clients, including academic medical centers, public and nonprofit hospitals, medical device manufacturers, pharmaceutical, health information technology, and lab companies.
Experience
- Government Enforcement – Advises clients on government enforcement investigations and settlements, and negotiation and implementation of corporate integrity agreements.
- Regulatory – Counsels clients on emerging opportunities and challenges for business initiatives, including issues related to fraud, waste and abuse, corporate practice of medicine, Medicare conditions of participation, patient privacy, and 340B programs.
- Transactions – Represents clients in mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions in both the for-profit and not-for-profit context.
- Academic Affiliations – Assists academic medical centers and educational institutions in drafting and negotiating academic affiliation agreements.
In 2015, Peter also served as in-house counsel at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. During law school, Peter interned at the National Academy for State Health Policy and at the AARP Foundation Health Litigation Group in Washington, DC. He was also a law clerk for the Office of Senator Patrick Leahy, Senate Judiciary Committee. Prior to law school, Peter worked for Biogen in Cambridge, MA, where he assisted physicians with drug reimbursement and counseled patients seeking treatment with two of the company's biological therapies.
