Edward Olsen is an associate in Ropes & Gray’s finance practice group in London. Edward has experience advising private equity sponsors, lenders and borrowers on a range of domestic and cross-border leveraged and acquisition finance transactions. 

Edward trained at the firm’s London office and was seconded to a leading telecommunications service provider in 2023, supporting the legal team on treasury and financing matters.

Experience

  • Advised Oriflame in connection with a comprehensive recapitalisation to deliver a substantially de-levered and sustainable balance sheet with a debt reduction of approximately €520 million and a meaningful maturity runway.
  • Advised Goldman Sachs, Jefferies and Mizuho on all the financing elements of Outbrain’s acquisition of Teads, which consisted of a $625 million funded bridge facility, a $100 million revolving credit facility, and issuance of $637.5 million of 10.000% senior secured notes due 2030, which was used to refinance the bridge facility.
  • Advised Avista Healthcare Partners on a unitranche and super senior revolving credit facility financing to support its acquisition of Terrats Medical
  • Advised Intermediate Capital Group on the unitranche and super senior revolving credit facility financing in connection with its acquisition of Law Business Research
  • Represented Liberty Global in connection with the holdco financing arrangements to support its US$1 billion tender offer for the outstanding shares in Telenet Group Holding
  • Acted for BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank and the other lead arrangers on a term loan A financing to support the bolt-on acquisition of Atos Italia by Apax portfolio company, Lutech
