Elana Stern is an associate in Ropes & Gray’s litigation & enforcement practice group. Based in New York, Elana focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation. She represents public and private companies, financial institutions, and other sophisticated clients in all stages of civil litigation. Elana also has significant courtroom experience and has represented clients at trial and through appellate proceedings.

Elana also maintains an active pro bono practice, with a focus on reproductive rights, the rights of incarcerated persons, and criminal and civil appellate matters in state and federal courts.

Prior to joining Ropes & Gray, Elana was a litigation associate at a prominent New York-based firm. From 2020–2021, she served as a law clerk to the Honorable Robert D. Sack of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and from 2019–2020, she served as a law clerk to the Honorable P. Kevin Castel of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
