The FCA is consulting on climate change disclosures for UK-listed companies, which is another development in the highly evolving ESG area.
Whilst this isn’t targeted at asset managers, it highlights the direction of travel in this space and the importance the FCA places on the topic. When you take this and other measures at the UK and EU level into account, such as the EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulations, ESG should be a key priority for firms during the course of this year.
This is not just a European issue, but something the SEC is also focusing on, so firms should ensure their European and US policies on ESG are considered together.
