Ropes & Gray has advised Cambridge Information Group (CIG) on its acquisition of Emerald Publishing, a UK-based global digital first publishing company, with a focus on content in the management, business, education, healthcare, and engineering spaces. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
CIG – a family-owned, mission-led investment firm based in New York City, which focuses on long-term investments in education, information, and software companies – is a new client for the firm.
The Ropes & Gray team was led by private equity transactions partners Dan Oates and Angela Becker. Other members of the team included tax partner Chris Agnoli and PERE partner David Seymour, alongside associates Sam Hancock and Rosie Bell, and trainees William Allen and Aisha Arden.
