Ropes & Gray represented Bain Capital Private Equity in an agreement to acquire a significant stake in 1440 Foods, a leading portfolio of sports and nutrition brands, in partnership with existing investor and operator 4x4 Capital. The transaction was announced in a press release on December 13. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Headquartered in Boston, Bain Capital has 23 offices on four continents. The firm invests across multiple asset classes, including private equity, credit, public equity, venture capital and real estate, managing approximately $180 billion in total assets.
This deal was led by private equity partners Charlie Boer and David Hutchins and associates Andrea Daley, Merry Sheehan and Mike Palermo, and included finance partner Scott Rolnik, executive compensation & employee benefits partner Renata Ferrari, tax partner Pam Glazier, IP transactions partner Regina Sam Penti, litigation & enforcement partner Jonathan Klarfeld, life sciences partner Kellie Combs, employment partner Megan Bisk, and real estate partner Rich Gordet.
